Peggy Dickerson

I originally began painting oils in the 60's, though
my primary focus the past 10 years has been
watercolor.  I have had the privilege of studying
under many talented teachers. One aspect of painting
that I particularly enjoy is color; the layering, depth, and
richness of tone and color in watercolor painting is
part of what makes this medium so appealing to me.
I am primarily a realist and paint mainly from photographs
that I've taken, from African tribesmen to Amish pastoral
scenes,  Italian nonnas to boats on the Amalfi coast.
That said, I also enjoy the occasional abstract painting, and
have played around with various textures and mediums in
addition to the watercolors.  Traveling both abroad and
domestically has afforded me the opportunity to see
new places and things through an artist’s eye, and
many of my paintings reflect an appreciation
for color, life, and vibrant details
.
